Chukwueze made a bold statement ahead of the Sierra Leone clash:
“Nigerian fans should book tickets to see Afcon 2023”
The Super Eagles are gearing up to face Sierra Leone on Sunday in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chukwueze is among the players in the camp and is expected to play a key role in helping his team overcome Leone Stars in Group A.
The Villarreal star is confident Jose Peseiro’s side will make it to the final and urged fans to start preparing for the biennial tournament and cheer for the team.
The striker further revealed his goals with the national team before retiring.
Chukwueze told ESPN: “The Nigerians should expect a win because we have to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.
“They just need to book tickets because we are going to win and go there [the final in Ivory Coast].
“We definitely want to win AFCON because we have great young talent and we have young players who are really ready to fight.
“For me, I have to win a trophy with the Super Eagles because I can’t get to the end of my career without winning a trophy with the Super Eagles. This is our moment.”
