Mykhailo Mudryk, dubbed “The Ukrainian Neymar,” cost Chelsea £89 million, but is he really worth it?

Even though the 22-year-old winger has only scored 12 goals at the club level, Chelsea has just made him one of the most expensive players in history.

The sale of Mykhailo Mudryk caused Rinat Akhmetov, the president of Shakhtar Donetsk, to have “mixed sentiments.” On the one hand, he wanted to hang onto a young player with such potential “in order to win European trophies.” On the other hand, how could he refuse an £89 million ($109 million) offer for a 22-year-old rookie with only 65 senior appearances?

In fact, this deal has caused everyone to take note, even in a world where the transfer market has long since gone bonkers.

Keep in mind that several teams were willing to spend more than Chelsea did upfront to acquire Mudryk.
