City have dreamed of winning the Champions League since being taken over by Abu Dhabi United in 2008, and more since Guardiola became the club’s coach in 2016. It took 15 years and more £2 billion to invest, but City are ultimately what they have long wanted to be and feel they should:

Saturday’s victory not only took the Champions League away from City but also saw them become the second English side to win Europe’s biggest prize treble, the Premier League and FA title. Cup. The hat-trick was Manchester United’s pride and joy, but now City have achieved the feat.
